Why am I now consulting?

After years of providing consulting for free, because let's face it I am an advocate and want everyone to have access, it was time for me to really think about how I really do good work in this field. I started asking myself what am I good at? Is there a need for another consultant in what can feel like an oversaturated market especially in the Violence Against Women movement?
After thinking about it, I thought, well yes! I am good at this and there is space for all voices. Providing training and technical assistance is something that I love. I love helping programs and organizations think critically about their needs, and how they can better serve survivors of crime. Providing training is something that makes my heart sing and want to be able to provide training and technical assistance to those who truly need it.
Likewise, there are not enough black women who are doing this work, with a true intersectional lens. I stand on the shoulders of my black and brown foremothers and aunties in this movement.
I look forward to this new journey, and I am excited to share this with you!
